From the Fordington Parish Baptismal Records for
1621:
"OCTOBER 28 PERSIS THE DAUGHTER OF ANTHONY EAMES WAS BAPTISED"
The transcribers footnote is: Persis is an unusual
female biblical name - she was a Christian woman in Rome whom St Paul salutes -
she was spoken of as “beloved and as having laboured
much in the lord”
As for her mothers maiden name, I'd also like to know. The only records of a
Pierce surname in that parish (including all possible variants) document a
Margery Pierce as follows:
JANUARY 20 [1621] ROBERT THE BASTARD SONNE OF MARGERYE PEIRCE? WAS BAPTISED
APRILL 29 1624 ROBERT BASE [I.E. ILLEGITIMATE] SONNE OF MARGERY PIERCE BURIED.
If anyone knows the actual maiden name of Anthony's wife, I'd sure like to
know.
I'm also trying to find documentation of Michael Pierce's birth (I found one
record which lists 1612 rather than the ubiquitous 1615)
Also birth dates of Anthony's children.

Did Anthony Eames have a son, Robert Eames, born in 1636 in Boxford, Essex Co.,
MA, d 1693? This is the one who is supposed to have
married Rebecca Blake.

"Persis, daughter of Michael Pierce, baptized
1646" also "Michael Pierce's daughter born 1662 and Michael Pierce's
wife died 1662"

1889
Michael will dated 15 Jan 1675/6 and proved 22 July 1675/6, names wife Anna
(second wife) children Benjamin, John, Ephraim, Abigail Holbrook, Mary
Holbrook, Elizabeth, Sarah, Annah, Abiah, Ruth and Persis,
Grandchildren Elizabeth and Abigail Holbrook and father Eames, brothers Mark Jennes and Charles Stockbridge.
